SO is all the ice that was jammed in St. clair (i.e. the ice damn)in algonac now? And because of that, CG wants to chop it up and get it floating downstream??
What do some people expect the ferry owner to do when this is completely out of anyones control? Even when the weather warms up and ice moves naturally. Nobody is being left in the dark on this. By the way, if you watched the news last night 11pm on channel 4 they covered it,and even said the ferry would be shut down around 10 am this morning. So whos in the dark? the ferry stay open as long as it can under the circumstances. The only wrong here is the coast guard screwing everything up again. The ferry lets everyone know as soon as they know whats happening. What else can they do? Run in the ice flows, get stuck and end up half way down the North Channel where they would need to be rescued by the coast guard? C'mon. As for emergencies, they do have these things called helicopters. Its never been a problem before, and it wont be now either. Some people are just being too hard on the ferry, when its not their fault. I agree this is a burden, but its winter, and this is a bad year for ice. Believe me there will be plenty more to come.
