What I do not understand is why the ferry owner/employee does not use the St. Clair county alert system. This system can notify islanders by e-mail, phone, cell phone, pager, fax of ferry status 24 hours per day. All owner/employee has to do is call township dispatch. Owner/employee not doing this shows all islanders the lack of concern owner has for all his customers.

I have yet to be stranded on the island, I have taken the airboat for about 6 days but never stranded..If there is a will there is a way, a cold way mind you, but a way. The person that wrote to call and complain? That is your choice to do that, I choose not to, I choose to be thankful for the wonderful friends I have had laughs with while waiting for the airboat, the countless trips to the ferry to see if it is running yet and waiving to the 20 people doing the same, we have joked about setting up a bar at the ferry and getting a party started..I know this seems far fetched to you, it's just islanders making the best out of a bad situation. Thank you David for the 2 day ride so far and for Eric for all your hard work on Sunday and your smilin face at 7 am Monday morning! HAGD Islanders!

I recall being on the Island back in the 70's at The Boys' Club Camp on North Channel Drive for winter camping sessions under Lenny Ziolkowski's watch and never once in Jan. or Feb. did we have to be stranded on the island that I recall. The Bryson's always have been awesome as far as reliability goes. Anyone care to share any info on that particular story? That is the Boys' Clubs Camp Drusilla Farwell? I spent many summers and winters out on the island and it was an awesome place back then!
