Ice Breaking Update!!!

Good Evening,

At the request of the Harsens Island Ferry, the CGC BRISTOL BAY will be going into the North Channel tonight to conduct flushing operations for the ferry. Hopefully this will help relieve the ice jam that has recently built up around Russell Island so that ferry service can resume.

Well, the ice in the North Channel is moving, but the ferry is not. Supposedly they are not going to try until "later".

Running yet?

No. The Bristol Bay was working the North, Middle is moving. Does anyone know if there are plans for an airboat run? A car on the other side doesn't do any good unless there is a way to get to it.

The airboat made 1 run to bring over the mail. Thats all I know. The ferry isnt running as of yet. The breaker has been running. There is ice up above Algonac State Park across the river and as far as I could see. If the ferry does run, I think it will be short lived until the ice moves out. Happy Spring!
