New Ice Breaking Update...

Good Morning Everyone,

As was mentioned last week, vessel traffic transiting through the St. Clair River remains minimal as we are currently in the Closed Navigational Season.

On Wednesday we saw about a 5 inch spike in the water levels up near Marine City. After consulting with the Army Corp of Engineers, the spike was attributed to the high winds experienced during the storm that moved through the region. Water level dropped back down to typical levels on Thursday.

We have NO plans to send our icebreakers into the North Channel at this time. We will continue to provide information via this blog as it pertains to ice operations in the North Channel.
