People are calling me and asking for news of the ice, but there really isn't much to tell. According to a comment by Nancy, the ice in the Middle Channel was moving at 11:02 this morning. I just took a drive down South Channel and the ice is moving at a good clip in the center. The Mackinaw was upbound and another, smaller coast guard boat (couldn't see the name because of the ice) was upbound on the American side.
Looks to me like the rain is helping some and hopefully the ice will keep melting and moving. Webcam at the Black River shows ice is thinning out.
Please let us know if you have heard or seen anything people would like to know.
