Lost Dog Near Sans Souci--Maple, Elm, Poplar Streets

A medium sized male dog, shaggy, black with a little gray, was found on Maple in Sans Souci around 6PM today, Saturday, 2/27/10. The dog was wearing a collar with a red cable attached. The cable was caught around trees and on a fence. Wendie Trudell heard the dog barking and went to the rescue. The dog wasn't very friendly at first, bared it's teeth and growled, but Wendie talked to it for quite a while, calmed it down and was able to unhook it from the trees and fence. The dog took off running but was still in the vicinity of Elm and Poplar and was just seen running towards South Channel. We tried calling to it, but it just runs away.

The dog has two tags, one a 2008 license and one a rabies vaccination tag from Dr. Konyha, Marine City.

If anyone knows who this dog belongs to, please notify them. Thank you.

We think that was "Scruffy Dog" that is from the Middle Channel and is always running loose. My husband had to rescue him in the middle of a freezing cold night when his cable was entangled in a tree root.
