Clay Township dispatch just received news that the ferry is running and will keep running until 9 PM this evening. They will try to resume running again in the morning.
I understand the ferry is moving back and forth without difficulty. It is just as dark at 9pm as it is at midnight or 5am. Can anyone figure out the reason behind shutting down for the midnight shift?
Thank you Mr. DeBoyer for sounding your strong voice on behalf of the islanders who work on the mainland or have loved ones on the island who need immediate access to and from the island. We are all greatful.
The ferry stop running at night so the water is not disturbed as much, thus creating an "ice bridge" that will keep the ice from plugging the channel use by the ferry....
I appreciate Mr. DeBoyer's letter to Rep. Candice Miller, I just wish he would have included the disruption to the school children on the Island. In Washington that may have provoked some action.

Why is it shutting down at 9? Do the ice monsters come out after that?
