From late last night until now there has been a black dog wandering around my neighborhood. It seems to stay pretty close to my house on LaCroix near the cut through road to the DNR.
I can't get close because it always runs, but I think it is a male, it has a large head and is wearing what looks like a gray collar.

I have a purebred Bernese Mountain dog in heat at the moment, and this is making our lives miserable as I can't let my females out, and they know another dog is outside so we are getting the constant barking and whining!
If I don't hear from the owner by tomorrow afternoon, I am going to call animal rescue assuming it is a stray. It is far to cold for a dog to be out there without shelter, food and water.
I did leave out some food for a few minutes, but he just snuck up, ate a bite and ran off again, so I'm thiking it's a local dog or it would have scarfed the food down.
